About Us

The Amber Lantern is a fine dining restaurant located at Top Rack Marina on the Intracoastal Waterway in Chesapeake, Virginia.  We have proudly served the Tidewater area since November of 2009.  Our goal is your satisfaction- we make every effort to ensure our customers have the best experience possible.  Our Executive Chef Carmelo Muroni prepares exquisite dishes with a Mediterranean influence.  Our waterfront location makes for the perfect relaxing, romantic setting for all types of occasions.  Come try our new raspberry walnut salad, savored Angus Reserve filet mignon, macadamia-encrusted mahi, signature crab stuffed shrimp, and finish your evening off with our homemade crème brulee.  We can't wait to indulge you with an unforgettable dining experience.

Who We Are

The Amber Lantern Restaurant located at Top Rack Marina is a family owned and operated business.  We value our local customers in the Tidewater area as well as our land and sea travellers.  The Amber Lantern is accessible not only by car but also by boat, as we offer wet slips for seafarers at Top Rack Marina.  We offer helicopter landing to our restaurant patrons as well.

Our History


The origin of the Amber Lantern's restaurant name derives from Dana Point, California.  In this area, there are a series of streets named Blue Lantern, Golden Lantern, and Amber Lantern.  Historically, sailors in the Dana Point area would utilize various colored kerosene lanterns.  The owners of the Amber Lantern Restaurant fancied the name Amber, as it is also the name of their daughter, and the Amber Lantern was born.  At the Amber Lantern Restaurant, you will enjoy the ambiance of amber-colored lighting and décor for a truly unique dining experience.
